Thursday night at 10:55pm and sleepless me, don't really feel like playing Audition tonight. Checking out what's new and what's old on YouTube, decided to share with all of you a few MVs that I like.

The first MV is by Super Junior & SNSD. Those who are fans of these 2 korean groups are in for an eye feast. Second MV is none other than Charice Pempengco, the girl who makes all Filipinos proud. Third MV is a Taiwanese singer and since most of you don't understand Mandarin, just enjoy the melody and MV then.

1 Hit Wonder?

Are these girl groups set to rock and stay in the music industry or are they just a 1-hit wonder? Time will tell...

Wonder Girls

The Wonder Girls debuted on February 14, 2007 on MBC's "Show! Music Core", singing "Irony", the hip-hop single from their debut mini-album, The Wonder Begins. The mini-album sold 11,454 copies in 2007.

Each of the five original members were selected through auditions. Debuting in early 2007, they became popular in the fall of that year with the song "Tell Me."

Since then they have scored 3 consecutive #1 hit singles with "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody", and in 2008, won two Daesangs ("Artist of the Year" Awards). They are oftened compare to the girl group FIN.K.L.











Kara

They debuted as a 4-member girl group on March 29, 2007 with "Break It" on M! Countdown. Their first album was called The First Blooming, and they debuted with the mature, independent, "strong-female" image and they focused on singing and music, instead of appearing on variety shows. 1 of the girls left the group suddenly due to parental pressure, as her participation in the group was contingent on the maintenance of her grades.

KARA's comeback as a 5-member group was on July 24, 2008 with "Rock U" on MCountdown. They made their comeback with the "cute" concept.

This is so effin' genius!!! One of the coolest MTV I've seen in a long time! 2 thumbs up for the song too.

My mahal ko loves this song Rookie by Lexy, so do I. AuditionSEA has this song. Too bad AudiPH doesn't have.

The second MTV, Lexy changed her image and had a boycut hairstyle. She purposely behaved like a tomboy and my goodness, she really can pass off as a lesbian. A handsome one of cos lol...

I find her voice too harsh for them, but I do love the emotion that she oozes when she sings and she compliments it with her acting. ^^ It is great to see something released from her. It hasn’t been long since Taboo was released, but I was already feeling withdrawal symptoms lol ^^

Girls' Generation

Decided to blog about this Korean girl group after I saw a new family formed in AuditionPH, known as -GG- (Girls Generation).

I've uploaded the album to imeem and have created a playlist. I bought their album when it was released. Not that I am a big fan of theirs, I have the habit of buying albums instead of downloading it from the internet. I wouldn't say it's a fantastic album. It's one of those typical girl group kind of music. Their second album is scheduled for a November 2008 release.


Girls' Generation 1st MTV - Into The New World

Girls' Generation (Hangul: 소녀시대; Hanja: 少女時代) is a South Korean nine-member girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. International Girls' Generation fans usually refer to the group as SNSD, the acronym of the group's Korean name So Nyeo Shi Dae as well as their Chinese name, Shao Nü Shi Dai.

She gained a minor role in the Korean drama, 9 Ends 2 Outs (9회말 2아웃) and won a major role in a new drama, You Are My Destiny. In the new drama, Yoona portrays a girl who was once blind. You Are My Destiny has the highest rating and number of viewers for daily dramas in its time slot, beating other per popular dramas from major Korean networks, MBC and SBS.

Tiffany was raised in Diamond Bar, California. She was discovered in the SM Starlight Casting System 2004 in Los Angeles and began her training under the label until the debut of Girls' Generation. Along with Seohyun and Jessica, she released a brand new single, "Bad Brother" (오빠 나빠) and Mabinogi [It's Fantastic!]. Before coming to Korea, she attended Diamond Bar High School in Diamond Bar, California.

Yuri joined the label when she took 2nd place in the 2001 1st SM Youth Best Dancer Contest. She also had a small role in a television segment, "The King's Boyfriend," which was part of the 2005–2006 KMTV Super Junior documentary, Super Junior Show. Yuri also played a part in the sitcom Unstoppable Marriage alongside Sooyoung.

Hyoyeon is regarded as the best dancer in the group as she once attended a hip hop dance school that specializes in waving, popping, locking, and animation. Prior to debut, Hyoyeon traveled to Beijing, China in 2004 with Super Junior's Siwon to learn Mandarin and more about Chinese culture.

Before Sooyoung's addition to Girls' Generation, she made a brief debut in Japan as a singer in the group called Route φ. She first debuted with Marina Takahashi with the song start. While in Japan, she became close friends with BoA and Sunday from The Grace as they too were working in Japan as singers at the time. She was previously a DJ of Reckless Radio along with Sungmin of Super Junior. However, she was soon replaced by Sunny due to schedule conflicts. Sooyoung also played a part in the sitcom Unstoppable Marriage alongside Yuri.

Seohyun

Seohyun is the youngest member of the Girls' Generation. She is a very high leveled pianist and along with Tiffany and Jessica, they released a mini-group singles "오빠 나빠" ("Bad Boyfriend/Brother") and "Mabinogi (It's Fantastic!)". She is also into the show and character, Keroro Gunsou.

Taeyeon

Taeyeon is the responsible leader and the oldest member of Girls' Generation. She is currently a DJ of Good Friend Radio with Super Junior member Kang-In and was the first member to release a solo track "If" for the drama "Hong Gil Dong". Taeyeon was further involved in Lee Bul's Music Video called 영원(Forever) and has also sang "Can/Do You Hear me...?" in the "Beethoven Virus" OST soundtrack. Taeyeon was the winner of the SM Academy singing competition in 2004.

Sunny

Her father was once the manager of the disbanded K-pop girl group Sugar. She was a co-DJ of Reckless Radio along with Sungmin of Super Junior until the broadcast ended on the 30th of July.

DBSK 4th Korean Album

Voted as 2008’s most anticipated group, Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) has made a comeback with their 4th Korean album, after a 2-year break from "O" album! Successfully entering the Japanese market, after a year of extreme hardwork to top the Oricon charts, the boys had finally returned home to Korea. Over 300,000 copies of DBSK's new 4th album have been pre-ordered causing the official release date to be pushed back for two days to Sept 26, 2008.

“Mirotic” is the title track for DBSK from their new 4th album. Origins of the song are international. Danish songwriting team, Remee/Troelsen helped to write. The duo incidentially also had a hand in Boa’s new salaciously titled track, “Eat you up”. And Kenny Wormald, who has worked with Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Chris Brown will do the choreography.

The title is actually derived from the Chinese character or Hanja, “miro’ which means labyrinth and the English suffix “tic.”

I am totally in love with their new image. So drop dead gorgeous and handsome!!! Watch the music video and you'll know what I mean. *Drooling... ...
